Announcement: Initiation of private, detailed regulation for Fornebu Arena

The planned area is approximately 70 acres large and is today regulated to build an arena and traffic areas. The purpose of future regulation will be a combined construction area for sports facilities, culture, offices, catering and business, as well as transportation facilities.

The purpose of the planning work is to facilitate a rebuilding of the arena, which will provide more flexible use and the opportunity for more simultaneous activities. Is is planned for outward-facing functions in parts of the ground floor. The existing office wing will be proposed to be extended with one floor. Towards, John Strandrud’s road, a logistics space is currently being planned. It may also be relevant to regulate measures on the surrounding road system, e.g. to ensure good and safe traffic flow during operation of the arena complex The planning work will take place in parallel and coordinated with Bærum municipality’s work with the area plan for Fornebuporten. The planning work does not trigger requirements for an impact assessment.

The planning work is carried out by COWI AS and Reiulf Ramstad arkitekter AS on behalf of.
